SHIPPING

All orders are shipped overnight via Federal Express. Shipping prices start at $35 and increase depending on the destination address, zip code, and the dimensions of the shipping box.

SHIPPING DISCLAIMER

We ship all of our packages priority or standard overnight through either FedEx, UPS, or OnTrac. The delicate nature of what we do does not allow for 2-day shipping.

Credits for late shipping (i.e. package did not arrive until the next day) and damaged product claims (maximum $100.00 and must be done within 15 days – otherwise the claim cannot be honored) are handled by Federal Express. It is the purchaser’s responsibility to check the address and numbers for accuracy. Wrong address or lack of is not ECC’s responsibility and no new cake will be shipped or credit given. If the item is a gift, they should notify the recipient that a perishable gift is coming on that day. We, ECC, have a release with Fed Ex and all packages are left on the porch if no one is home, UNLESS the purchaser requests a signature. This must be done at order entry so we mark our label signature required. If purchaser requests a signature and the recipient is not at home to sign, the product will not be delivered until the following day and thus the product will not be good. So for that reason we recommend a release of package. ECC is not responsible for packages that require a signature. If we, ECC, make an error in labeling or product contents, we will either reship or not bill for the product.

If the error falls on Federal Express, or any other courier and ECC is able to file claim and receive credit for shipping fees, we will reship. If Federal Express errors by the “Act of God” policy (weather or uncontrolled circumstances), they will not refund for shipping nor honor their $100.00 money back guarantee. In this case, ECC will reship the product, but purchaser will have to pay for additional shipping charges. No refunds will be given.

PRICING AND TERMS

• Wedding cakes: Wedding cakes are priced at a per-person rate ranging from $11 to $20, depending on the level of detail work and design. Smaller wedding cakes and grooms’ cakes are priced on a per-project basis with a $600.00 minimum. Larger parties may have the option of a smaller set-up cake with an undecorated back-up cake. The back-up cakes are priced at $6 per person.

• Tastings Fee: We do our tasting on Thursday-Saturdays by appointment at our studio in Half Moon Bay. We invite couples and families (limit 6 because of room or space) to join us for a 1 hour meeting where you may sample a variety of cheesecakes and traditional cakes, and view our extensive slideshow (or portfolio). You will meet with our creative consultant Susan Morgan to design and discuss options. There is a $30.00 tasting fee for our meeting.

• Delivery charges: There is an additional charge for delivery and set-up. We can ship most of our designs throughout the continental United States. We estimate shipping charges between $250 to $500. We also provide a red carpet delivery service.

• Deposit: We require a nonrefundable deposit of $500 to confirm an order for a wedding or specialty event on a specific date. For wedding cakes and grooms’ cakes shipped out of state, we require 50% of the total amount, nonrefundable, paid up front. The payment balance is always due 10 days prior to the event. We encourage customers to secure a date early, at least 2-6 months in advance. We are a small business and are limited in the number of events we can handle each weekend.
